I have recently relocated to Stamford CT due to my husband’s job transfer, and am pleased to offer affordable private violin lessons in the comfort of your lower Fairfield County home. I am classically trained through the Suzuki Method, starting at age 3. As a freshman in high school, I became the concert mistress in the Repertoire Orchestra, then played in my high school’s Honors Orchestra. I’ve also played in Boston’s New England Conservatory youth orchestra, the UMass Lowell Chamber Orchestra, and the Reading Symphony Orchestra. I occasionally perform at churches.

I have six years of teaching experience, ranging from age 5 to adults, beginners through intermediate, with most of my students being in middle school. I have a friendly and upbeat personality, and focus on correct posture, intonation, rhythm, clarity, tone, and overall sound. I also stress practice during the week and parent involvement for my younger players. My students improve their playing ability, gain confidence and are encouraged. Parents love the convenience of having lessons at home, and many have said they’ve seen an almost immediate improvement in their child’s playing.

I've also put together a great program for young beginners that incorporates singing and games. Very effective!

My rate is $25 per 30 minutes (best for young students), and $35 for 45 minutes (standard). This is within a 10 mile radius of my downtown Stamford apartment, and beyond that I will add a mileage charge depending on how much further I have to travel. Sibling discounts.
